Eraldo Ferracci's MV Agusta F4 Serie d'Oro Featured in "The Art of the Motorcycle" Exhibit Eraldo Ferracci - founder of Fast by Ferracci, researcher, and driving force behind the most successful superbike team in history-has loaned his MV Agusta F4 Serie d'Oro to "The Art of the Motorcycle" exhibit, which opens in Memphis on April 22. With 270 grand prix victories to its credit, the MV Agusta name is one of the most respected and romantic in the motorcycle sport. Designed by Massimo Tamburini, this double overhead cam, fuel-injected, four-cylinder 170 mph sport bike carries on the MV tradition with high performance and emphatic styling that sets a design standard for the 21st century. Early development of the engine was said to be aided by a friendly collaboration with Ferrari. After a 27-year hiatus in production, this motorcycle was the first example to be shipped to North America from the reopened MV Agusta factory in 1999. At 750 cc, and with a power output of 126 hp @ 12,200 rpm, the Oro easily attains a top speed of 171 mph. Eraldo's bike is unique in that it features of number of machined billet components that were the prototypes for the cast pieces used in subsequent units. This Oro even boasts a film credit, having appeared in the 2000 feature release "The Art of War" with Wesley Snipes, as well as numerous photo shoots. As part of the "Retro/Revolutionary: 1993-Present" section, the Oro joins 100 bikes in a collection that spans 125 years of motorcycle history, which is presented by WONDERS in association with the Guggenheim Museum.
